About See Me Please See Me Please is a UK-based two-sided platform making it effortless for organisations to access rich, intersectional feedback from a holistic representation of the community they serve. We connect businesses with user testers who are blind, have low vision, are Deaf or hard of hearing, are neurodivergent, older, or non-English speaking, to improve digital accessibility and inclusion.

    Most user testing panels include:

    • 3 neurodivergent participants (e.g. autistic individuals)
    • 3 individuals aged over 70

  • Compensation for Testers

Valuing Testers and Our Payment Principles We deeply value the contributions of our user testers. We are committed to fair and meaningful compensation and never expect testers to work for free or in exchange for vouchers. We never pay less than double the UK minimum casual hourly wage for user testing participation. The commercial engagement for other work may vary. With regard to user testing projects specifically, we always pay a minimum of 3 hours' compensation regardless of how long the testing activity actually takes (e.g., if testing only takes 45 minutes, the tester is still paid for 3 hours). We recognise the value of lived experience and are committed to offering clear, fair, and outcome-based compensation. Compensation Structure for User Testing Engagements For user testing projects, the core of our business, testers are compensated based on outcome-based deliverables informed by a notional hourly rate. The minimum base rate for user testing is £25/hour, and testers are always paid at least 3 hours' worth of compensation per project. In accordance with UK law, testers classified as "workers" may also be eligible for pension contributions under the government's auto-enrolment scheme, which will be triggered only if certain criteria (age and earnings thresholds) are met. Example: If a User Tester is engaged at a base rate of £25 per hour, this rate may be supplemented by additional entitlements depending on the nature of the engagement. Under UK casual worker rules, holiday pay is calculated at 12.07% of the base hourly rate. This means for every hour worked at £25, the User Tester accrues an additional £3.02 in holiday pay, bringing the total hourly compensation to £28.02. If the User Tester meets the eligibility criteria for pension auto-enrolment (typically aged 22 or over and earning above the qualifying threshold), then pension contributions may also apply. In this case, See Me Please would contribute an additional 3% (£0.75 per hour), and the User Tester would contribute 5% (£1.25 per hour), usually deducted from their pre-tax pay Note: Pension contributions are only made if the engagement meets pension eligibility criteria, and the User Tester has not opted out of the scheme. This structure ensures that your preparation time, task engagement, and contribution are all fairly valued, even if the actual testing time is shorter than the compensation window. Other Engagement Types In addition to user testing, some testers may be invited to participate in other paid opportunities such as: Speaking at events, conferences, or panels Participating in promotional or marketing content (e.g., interviews, webinars) Producing short pre-sales demos showcasing assistive technology use These engagements are compensated under separate commercial arrangements. They are not tied to the hourly rates or pay structures of user testing projects. Compensation amounts will be clearly communicated before engagement and confirmed upon acceptance.
